Faith. You’re driving me away…
I can’t really remember when we visited this place. I’m pretty sure it was a month or so before the Sheffield bash. So early 2011 anyway.
The church was originally a “Methodist New Connexion” chapel, built in about 1889, the congregation outgrew the original chapel, so in 1906, a larger building was opened, with the original chapel becoming a church hall. In WWII, John Street methodist chapel was bombed, and the congregations joined together, adding the name of st john to Sharrow.
Lovely little place to explore. So much left behind to look at. We’d be back here again a few years later, although the place would be very different….
